			During a short détente between the two rivals, Tyre organized and aided in setting up a quarry for Kaskara, linking it to an automatic refinement system at a nearby warehouse.

	Negotiations with bcfoss yielded a magical form of mustard gas in exchange for relaxed restrictions on the use of magic within Kaskara. A temple dedicated to Witchery was constructed on the north side of the city and was frequently bombarded by concentrated blasts of lighting. bcfoss then constructed an illegal temple on the far northern plains of Kaskara, but the cold war prevented El Presidento from taking any direct action lest Tyre intervene. 			===Founding===
			Immediately following server start nobel617 wandered the world, looting pre-generated structures for valuables. In one of these dungeons he discovered a sword called ''The Sword of Kaskara'' and claimed it for himself. While discussing possible settlements, nobel617 considered naming wherever he settled after his sword. When he did eventually decided to settle on the southern tip of the largest northern island, he named it Kaskara.

			===Early History===
			Considerable forethought was put into the design of the main settlement. A fountain square was constructed and enclosed behind two rows of largely ornamental houses built in a vaguely mediterranean style.

			Construction efforts were put on hold temporarily as tensions between El Presidento and flufyking erupted into the [[Kaskaran Crusade]]. During the course of the war Kaskara City was bombarded by offshore mages and several buildings were partially damaged, but due to the ornamental nature of the houses (most were hollow) little of value was lost. After the Crusade was called off the city was rebuilt and expanded, becoming one of the largest settlements on the server.
