Melondeau

Melondeau was a location from Minecraft Attack initiated by Kjolt947. It was named after melons because they were the first crop to be grown in the settlement, later followed by wheat and potato. Existing under the rule of L'Empire de la Citroye, despite an offer to separate the two nations once again being made just before server activity slowed to a stop.

History

Formation

Following The Calamity, Melondeau was formed north of the ruins of Old Japan after the fall of Épinette-sur-quès. Kjolt947 took several melons from his previous home and they had served as his main food source until the nation expanded, hence the name.

Expansion

Slowly but surely, the nation was expanded with the construction of several buildings. These include a cactus farm, the melon factory, an underground sheep barn and a temple to Melondia. As it grew, however, its independence was brought to a close. Under threat of war, and lack of diplomatic support, the L'Empire de la Citroye enforced its vassalage of Melondeau via the First Treaty of Shanbao.

Relations

Overall, relations fluctuated with southern nations, but never to much of an extent compared to that of L'Empire. Despite mostly being beneficial, Kjolt947's opinion of its greater nation and its members was certainly shaky. Even during the Siege of the Gouffre, he had made negotiations with Citroye's enemies to remain neutral, without informing the Empire. Melondeau was a player of all sides and ultimately was able to avoid any significant conflict by joining forces with the Empire after their victory was assured.

War was threatened numerous times by L'Empire when Melondeau began to erase its French culture and replace it with Chugga speek twice removed. While this never happened, it would have escalated into a disaster for Melondeau due to being outnumbered. When bcfoss ascended to godhood, he offered Kjolt947 hoglin spawn eggs and an enchanted stick with unfathomable knockback. This was to wage war against and take over L'Empire once and for all. This came at a great cost; a shrine of coal was to be built in Melondeau, which proved to be a monumental task. Simultaneously, the Empire was drafting an ultimatum to Kjolt947 which would dissolve Melondeau and absorb it into La Citroye Souriante. However, this potential conclusion to Season II would not to pass true before the server was shutdown.
